Share a PDF by link first when the priority is one current version, a defined viewing window, and easy access from the recipient’s usual device. Keep an attachment or archive when the exact delivered file must be retained.

What should be checked before sending?

Open the link while signed out and test it on both a phone and a desktop. Verify the title, first page, page order, contact route, and any call to action. A readable PDF on a large monitor may still fail on a small screen.

Confirm which version the link represents and who owns it. If recipients previously received an attachment, tell them which reference is now current.

How are updates handled?

FeatPaper can keep the link while the document is updated. Explain the change directly, including the revised section and effective date. The same address does not by itself notify anyone.

A viewing period can align the link with the project or content-validity window. Describe it as the period when the document can be opened. Do not use the setting as shorthand for unrelated controls.

What should the recipient know?

State why the link was sent, what to review, whether a response is needed, and whom to contact. If the period will end soon, include that date in the message rather than leaving it to discovery.

  • Is the current owner and version clear?
  • Does the link work while signed out?
  • Is the document readable on a small screen?
  • Are the change note and end date explicit?
  • Is there a separate archive when a fixed record is required?

What remains for native review?

An English reviewer should check the naturalness of link-sharing terminology and confirm that the copy does not imply controls absent from the source. CTA review is also pending.
